Monster Bash Contests & Activities

Contests

The additional activities and interaction off the field is part of what makes the Monster Bash what it is!

Dugout Decorating

Held at:  C MB  |  AB MB  |  BB MB  |  WCT FP MB | WCT BB MB | STL FP MB

Teams are invited to decorate their dugout throughout the weekend in a Halloween theme. There will be a judge that will evaluate your dugout on multiple criteria (including: originality, use of props, consistency of theme, etc.) at one specified game. The only limitation should be your imagination. All teams will be judged during their first game on Saturday. Teams can wear costumes the entire weekend but all judging will take place during the team's first game on Saturday.

Pumpkin Carving Contest

Held at:  SUBJECT TO PUMPKIN AVAILABILITY

We will be supplying the pumpkins for this event.  All that your team needs to supply is the pumpkin carving devices and the creativity.  You will select and carve your pumpkin on Saturday and submit it to the tournament director's office by the end of the day.  The only rules are that the players on the team must carve the pumpkin and stencils are not allowed.  You will need to include your team's Name & Age/Division on the pumpkin.  The theme could or should encompass softball and Halloween, and tie in to your team's overall design theme of your dugout and costumes.

Spirit Contest

Held at:  C MB  |  AB MB  |  BB MB  |  WCT FP MB | WCT BB MB | STL FP MB

This contest involved everyone associated with your team. This will include involvement in the Dugout Decorating, Costumes, and overall Spirit. It will include Costumes by players, coaches, and fans. Also taken into consideration is the "atmosphere" created by teams and their members. All teams will be judged during their first game on Saturday. Teams can wear costumes the entire weekend but all judging will take place during the team's first game on Saturday.

PG Midwest Love Medals:

Picture
What is so different about a PG Midwdest Love Award?
In 2012, we lost a vibrant part of our family, Josh Williams. Josh, made it his mission to build relationships with everyone he met, while reminding us of the importance of living life to the fullest each and every day.  Today, we have one huge family that includes (but is not limited to) our staff, umpires, coaches, parents and players.  As a family, we have committed ourselves to continuing Josh's mission to teach and lead others in demonstrating that same LOVE he so effortlessly displayed every day.

In youth sports, we spend so much of our time chasing the performance-based accomplishments, often missing the impact youth sports can have on a character. That is why our goal is to not award the best athlete or best player on the team, but to award a player who demonstrates a Championship attitude in other areas of the game that we feel are more important.

Attributes to look for when handing out this medal:
  • Displays outstanding character on the field
  • An extraordinary example of sportsmanship
  • An example of respect
  • An example of hustle
At the conclusion of each pool game you play, you will award a player from the opposing team with a LOVE medal. The opposing team will do the same for you.

Help us spread the LOVE.
